A STIHL robotic mower is the ideal option if you want a lush, green lawn without the effort, and now we have two new automatic mowers to add to our range for even more choices. In our existing line-up, the iMOW® 5, 6 and 7 are designed for use on lawns up to 5000 square metres, but the new STIHL iMOW® 3 and 4 with a white cover and the 3 EVO and 4 EVO with a grey cover are perfect robotic mowers for smaller lawns up to 500 and 1000 square metres respectively.
These new automatic lawn mower models have a more compact design and a slightly smaller cutting width of 20cm. The dock for the robotic mower is also smaller, so it’s more discreet in a smaller garden. Both the STIHL iMOW® 3 EVO and iMOW® 4 EVO are mobile connected, so you can control the mower using the app from wherever you are. The iMOW® 3 and 4 are not mobile connected but they can be connected to your home WiFi, which enables you to control them remotely through the app.

Via the STIHL iMOW® app, you can send the robotic mowers out to mow or back to the docking station, change the mowing plan or check their status at any point. You can even adjust the mowing height between 20 and 60mm on the EVO versions using the app, or by using the dial on the machine on the non-EVO versions.
STHL iMOW® is a mulching mower, which means it only cuts small clippings of grass each time and then drops it back onto the lawn. This acts as a nutrient-rich fertiliser, so it can even improve your lawn. Plus, you never have to empty the grass box!
iMOW® robot mowers have a dynamic mowing plan that can be easily tailored to your needs, so it can be programmed to mow when you’re not using your garden. Although it’s really quiet, so it won’t disturb you if you just want a quiet afternoon relaxing on the patio.
A key advantage of the STIHL iMOW® robotic mowers is their quick mowing times, so you can spend more time enjoying the garden with a lawn that always looks freshly mown. Adjustable rain sensors also let you choose whether it continues to work in the rain or makes up the mowing time once the rain stops.
You don’t have to worry about charging the iMOW®’s Lithium-Ion battery either. It simply finds its way back to the weather-proof docking station and charges itself efficiently, ready for the next cut.
If you want to quickly check the status of the iMOW® robot lawn mower without opening the app, or perhaps someone in the family who isn’t using the app wants to check when it will next mow, they can press the info button on the top of the iMOW® which will tell you when the next mowing session is. You can also send it home or send it out to mow, depending on the level of access you’ve set.
It doesn’t matter if your garden isn’t perfectly flat either – iMOW®’s gradient sensors help it manage its speeds so it can handle up to 45% slopes with ease. There are also wheel upgrade kits available separately to help it get up steeper slopes.
The STIHL iMOW® robotic mowers are installed by laying or burying a thin wire around the outer edges of your lawn and any obstacles like shrubs, trees, flower beds or water features. A second wire in the centre of the lawn helps the robotic mowers travel home to charge. The guide wire is very discreet and soon becomes hidden after a few weeks of the grass growing.
If the automatic mower comes across other objects in the mowing area, the ultrasonic sensors will slow the mower down before it lightly touches the obstacle and automatically changes direction. Whilst you can install these mowers yourself, our network of STIHL Approved Dealers across Great Britain would also be more than happy to help you install them too, which is recommended for trickier installations with complex gardens or multiple mowing areas.
