So a few of my subscribers wanted me to do a video to see what happens if you take the worx landroid 4wD lawnmower off the property.
I personally do not worry about this. It actually sets a GPS tracking so you can find exactly where it’s at and an alarm goes off.

So I finally tested this. Pulled the battery out. Put it in my car. When I got 50 feet from the house the alarm went off.The mower alerted for around 10 minutes and showed its location.
So indeed, it does have battery backup.
What happens if you put it in a Faraday cage, so it can't receive positional information?

Need a deeper dive into this. Try do defeat the security system doing the things other posters are commenting on here. I’m particularly interested in seeing what happens if the battery is removed prior to moving the unit. Ideally, you’d want any would be thieves to be discouraged from removing the unit in the first place rather than pop the battery out and try and figure it out later in the comfort of their own garage. Additionally, how well does the GPS system work (with and without the battery installed). How accurate is it? Would I be better served hiding an AirTag on the unit?

Just wonder if there is some type of battery inside that holds charge for GPS/theft protection even if the main battery is pulled.
Turn the mower off, remove the battery and remove from property and see what happens.

It looks like a raft of asian/ china knockoffs is coming for robot mowers. Soon will be even cheaper.
When I took it back to my property it went back to normal mode.
