No one ever talks about dog poo with mowers and vacuum cleaner nightmare stories
These mowers trample the grass more than cut it
Nice job with the video!
My flymo robot mower stopped working straight after the end of the guarantee. Did the straightforward things, battery change and voltage check with multimeter. Website and helpline give a long list of agents but none that I have called (I have called lots) do repairs. So bear in mind you might be replacing it after 3 years. Guess it depends if you think that is good value or not….
This video was made a month ago, but all of the mowers on the list are old and use old technology. There are so many mowers that no longer need boundary wires, can mow in straight rows, are so much quicker, can rake, kill weeds, I had to stop when they mentioned the Sileno as the #2 mower. Whoever put this list together is clearly out of touch with the newest mowers out there.
This is 2023. This video was only made one month ago. Why on earth would you include the Worx? First off, I have the Landroid L. I've had it for three years now. It's terrible. What are the issues?
* It uses boundary wires – This is old, unreliable technology. If I had a nickel for every time my mower complained that it somehow got outside of the boundary wire and needs to be rescued (because it doesn't know how to get back), I'd be a millionaire. There are a whole host of mowers that no longer need boundary wires, which is why I'm surprised they're including this mower on the list. Sometimes, my mower grabs the boundary wires and cuts it, then you've got to find where that cut is and fix it, which can take HOURS! Suffice it to say, boundary wires are terrible.
* It slips all over the place – Go look at the Worx reddit forum where people like me and a million others have come up with all types of schemes to help the wheels achieve better grip. If your lawn is 100% flat, you should be fine. If there's ANY hill, it slips. Sometimes, it slips itself right out of the boundary wire and you once again have it crying that you have to come rescue it
* Any little undulation in your lawn will trigger a "mower lifted" error. Most modern robot mowers have a body that twists and bends. The Luba is a good example. This mower's entire body is one solid piece and the entirety of it lifts any time there's any tiny ripple in your lawn and unless your lawn is golf course perfect, you'll eventually get a "mower lifted" error and you have to manually go out to restart it (you can't do it from the app)
* It mows in a random pattern, which is good and bad. It's good because eventually, you see no lines. I actually like that. And with the mower bouncing all over the place, you don't get any wear patterns. I don't like it because it means it takes way longer to actually finish mowing, which is fine since you're not the one doing the mowing! But the newer wireless mowers mow in straight lines and finish way quicker.
I could go on and on but I'd rather buy one of the newer mowers. The luba, one of the Husqvarna mowers that doesn't need boundary wires, doesn't stop every time there's a pebble in your lawn, finishes quicker, handles hills better, etc.
Do you know of any other robot lawn mowers that can cover farm land? Like over 20 acres! I know we'd have to buy multiple of them to cover more land, but do you guys know of any robot mowers that are designed to mow larger acres of land specifically? Or, perhaps, to program multiple of them working simultaneously at once? Please let me know asap. Thank you!
You can't tell whether they're good or not, when you don't have them to test. This is just reading the specs and assuming they tell the whole story, if even accurate. Useless video.
30 degrees is not steep… I've seen others that will cut 1.5 acres that will do over 75 percent. These are just cheap mowers for tiny yards. Why would you pay so much to cut 1/4 acre. You could cut that in 15 minutes. 😂
