We decided to take a chance on the brand new Husqvarna Automower iQ series (440 iQ) for maintaining the lawn on our farm. In this review, we’ll look at the setup and our first initial thoughts.
The iQ series big feature is the ability to set virtual boundaries. Rather than having to bury wires around your property, you drive the Automower around like a remote control car, defining a virtual perimeter around work areas and ‘keep out’ zones.
So how did it go? Watch the video and find out! Also, these types of videos take a lot of work to put together, so please like / comment / subscribe! Thanks!
Quick note: In an earlier version of this video we mentioned ordering the terrain kit wheel upgrade for the automower but it turns out that particular kit we ordered wasn’t compatible with this particular model. (Not sure if we ordered the wrong ones, or if they’re not making them yet for the iQ series.)
The good news is that since establishing the works zones, the 440 iQ’s stock wheels are doing great!

Almost lost site of the mower at the end due to the forest it was trying to get through.
Great thanks for the video. I bought this for 1.2 acre lawn on a hobby farm with similar characteristics to yours.
The manual says to keep the docking station out of the sun.
Make sure to change the blades once all the zones have been mowed down to "maintenance" height!
You`re aware this device is designed for maintaining the area but you released it into the bush.
Why you didn`t show us the work done after night ?
So is the 4g chip paid for by husqvarna and free?
Great! I was looking the other day for a non sponsored review for this one. We have some older Husqvarnas with the wire. As we are changing the property it is quite the hassle to keep them all going with wire in the new location, so I was hoping the gps was actually precise enough to get rid of the wires altogether 👍
I enjoyed the video, thanks. 😊
