Composting is not only good for your plants, it is also good for the environment. In this video we are showing you how to build a wooden composting bin. This composting bin is designed with a flap for easy reach into the bottom of the bin.
Material needed:
Posts
4 x 850mm x 54mm 54mm
Side slats
32 x 1000mm x 80mm x 18mm
Floor frame:
2 x 1000mm x 50mm x 30mm
2 x 936mm x 50mm x 30mm
Flap connector (struts for the removal flap)
2 x 280mm x 80mm x 18mm
Screws:
4.5 x 100 (for the frame), two per corner.
4.5 x 75 (this is used to screw the frame made of 50 x 30 mm wood to the post) 4.0 x 50 (for the slats)
3.5 x 50 (compost bin hinges)
Hinges:
2 x 100mm x 70mm for removal flap
– Tight rabbit wire as a mouse grid 110 x 110 cm
– 3 x storm hooks with 2 x matching eyebolts 8-10 cm for bottom flap.
– Wheelbarrow
Required tools:
– Cordless chainsaw MSA 140 C for the posts and frame wood
– Wood cutter GTA 26 for the boards
– Stapler
– Cordless screwdriver
