Knowing how to remove the top cover of your Husqvarna Automower from the chassis is important for maintenance and repairs. In this video we show you the steps to take to be able to remove the top cover from 310, 315, 315X, 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 520, 520H, 550, & 550H Husqvarna Automowers. The first thing to do when attempting to remove your Automower’s top cover is to make sure to clean off the bottom of the Automower specifically around the grommets where wires pass through to the inside of the Automower. Then carefully remove the grommets that have wires going through them and carefully pull the wire connectors through the holes in the lower chassis. Next unplug the wires at the connectors and be sure that they are hanging out of the lower chassis and will not easily go back inside of the lower chassis. With the wires unplugged and hanging free, hold down on the nose piece of the Automower in front of the keypad hatch while grabbing on to the front bumper of the mower. Give a firm tug straight upward on the front bumper until the top cover “pops” off of the joystick sensor(s). Then hold down on the keypad hatch cover right by the STOP switch and give a firm tug upward on the rear bumper until the cover “pops” off of the 2 rear joysticks. That is how you remove the top cover of your 300, 400, or 500 series (Non AWD) Husqvarna Automower. The top cover has to be removed when performing repairs to any internal components of the Automower such as wheel motors, circuit board, cutting motor height adjustment system, and several other components inside the Automower’s chassis. Removing the top cover to clean dirt, debris, and grass out from between the top cover and chassis is also something that should be at least once a season or more if you have the time.
