My parents are getting older and have a hard time mowing their lawn. Plus they go on vacation every so often. This could really help them, but I don't know that I could get my dad on board with babysitting the boundary wire
I def need a new mower, mine broke down, so I came across another particular brand called anthbot at Amazon. What put me into consideration is that it got 5 out of 5, the highest user comment score among all the mowers, and also at a moderate price, so I'd like to ask if you knows that brand?
❤🎉😂 love this review. They should pay you to review all of the robot lawn mowers
With grass like that I would go for a sheep or two.
cool toy and with a bald lawn like this it doesn't really matter what it does as long as it moves around for fun.
lawnmower vs tree 🙂
Would you recommend this for a vacation home with a simple yard, somewhere your at every other month? Or requires more attention?
Ever tried a Sheep 😉
Time to reseed and aerate there chief. 🙂 JK. Thanks for the review. I am considering getting one.
An AM radio receiver works great for find breaks in the wire. I don't rememer the freq, but it's in your manual.
Why not sharpen the blades it has?
Ecoflow blade man
What does it do with the grass after it cuts it were it go or does it empty it self
Charging station pad, they have this stuff called concrete…🤣 👍✌🖖🥃
There are robotic mowers that don't need boundary wires but your issue is you have a lot of tree coverage. The systems used in lawnmowers need line of sight, so if they go under the trees for too long they will lose connection. For 2024 there are at least two companies that are trying to fix this issue by using GPS along with LIDAR..
Bruh that's stupid.
Great vid – one of the best year long review updates.
If you have skills to make fancy wire protector – why not make a loop over the root that blocks the one stucky tree root …. Me I would hammer in a stake or two at least.
Thanks again for the vid.
We have had our 315X since 2019 and had the cables ploughed in by someone who has installed hundreds of mowers with his power tool. There are also wires against voles that have an additional sheath. These were necessary on one side, where the wire was bitten through several times. Objects such as trees or bushes were enclosed by the perimeter wire. Something like the children's playground can also be provided with a temporary boundary that is only active when the space is in use. If you run the wire where the mower finds the charging station in serpentine lines through the garden, it will also find it faster. I have also installed a flap in a gate to the second part of the garden, which works only with gravity, and prevents the cat from travelling but allows the mower to push itself open. You should also not wait too long to replace the blades. This is also done in a few minutes and costs almost nothing. In any case, the mower has reduced the work with the lawn a lot. I find it particularly pleasant that you no longer have to dispose of all the grass cuttings.
Bought ours 2016, still going strong with one service and 50 dollars of new parts, needed to replace the guide wire completely last year, because it had too many patches (42), the signal finder is a must have, although you can find simmular ones for around 20 dollar. Best thing is when the whole neighbourhood has their own, you don't have to hear anyone mowing their lawns anymore
I've had a Husqvarna 315X Automower for the past few mowing seasons. It's a great little machine–when it works. Unfortunately, I had to take it to the shop at least twice every season. That was just an inconvenience when it was under warranty, but when the warranty expired, it got rather expensive rather quickly. A couple days ago, I noticed that the mower wouldn't go more than a couple inches in any direction without stopping and turning. I turned it off and back on again, and got an error message "Collision sensor active". So, it was out in the middle of the yard thinking it was running into something no matter which way it turned.
I took it to the shop again. $100 later, the technician said he cleaned out some accumulated grass and it passed all the diagnostics. Took it home and turned it on. "Collision sensor active". Took it back to the shop. Again, the technician said it passed all the diagnostic tests. He showed me the test report. The report specifically said the collision sensor passed its test. Took it home again. "Collision sensor active". So now I have a machine that the shop says is fine, but it won't mow my lawn. The technician is baffled and has no clue what's wrong. I'm ready to junk it and buy a different brand.
Want one, you convinced me not one that requires boundary wire, nightmare.
Hello. I have boundary wire across the driveway. One wire is well below grade in a concrete joint. The other wire is in a joint, but it's laying on it moreso and not as protected from hot tires as I would like. Short of cutting into the concrete driveway, is there a product I can use to lay over the wire that lays flat and protects the wire from UV??
In 2021, I purchased a Husqvarna Automower 435x AWD. Within a week of setting up the boundary wire and spending $980 for it, the 435x AWD malfunctioned due to a problem with the knob control. Despite three warranty repairs, the issue persisted. Eventually, the dealer informed me that this particular model had a factory recall and a new knob had been designed. I returned the product and lost the money I paid for the boundary wire($980), and $125 for the Finance Charge.
I had previously lost money on a boundary wire and decided to purchase a new model with all the latest features and updates. After waiting and watching for two years, I finally received the 535X AWD. Unfortunately, this model malfunctioned after less than two months of use. The technician diagnosed two issues: a faulty power supply and the need to replace the command board, which was out of stock.
Now I spent $4,350 on a broken Husqvarna machine and want to return it for a refund, but no one will take responsibility and they keep passing me around.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance regarding this situation.#husquvarna #automower #automower430x #automower435xawd #automower535awd #customerservice
Husqvarna does have big, GPS-Controlled mowers that don't need the wire now. The new 450X Nera EPOS is mowing my lawn since two days and so far, I love it. I have a 2000 square meter (Half an acre) lawn but it only has to run for like 6-9 hours a day. It can do up to 5000 square meters (Over one acre) they claim. It is basically an upgraded 450X.
I did let a professional set it up but I already modified the mowing area. It is so much faster and more convenient than a wire controlled mower. You can move things around on your lawn and set up temporary restricted zones on the map. Setting up a restricted zone around my childrens trampoline for example took like 5 minutes. You basically show it where it has to mow by steering it with your phone. The controls are b bit laggy but it works just fine.
Please don't use the same blades for an entire season, replace them 2-3 times per year. Your lawn will look nicer when the blades are sharp and, most importantly, you won't damage your mower. The screws that fix the blades to the cutting disc will fatigue due to the blades rotating around them and the screw head might break off. Then you have to buy a new cutting disc which is just wasteful and could have been avoided with proper maintenance. Replace the screws when replacing the blades. New blades come with new screws from Husqvarna, use them 🙂
Hi, do you accept business cooperation? About testing our smart sprinkler controller and making a video for us.
Degen intro! Instant thumbs down!
We have the same model and love our automower
0:38 Nice C7 !
When you said snow that didn't happen I was like "Ah like where i live…" In Texas… Ohhh… Ya here in Texas we don't get snow. Every so often we get ice though!
Same wire concept as used in electronic dog fencing. You should bury the wire a couple inches to avoid the wire being chewed on by rabbits and squirrels.
That does not look like a 430? Anyway, the bigger model do far more than just mow bigger lawns…
Also, why not do the target height when you set it up? It's better for the lawn, looks nicer and if you don't the larger cuttings will just end up lying on top of the lawn. So, do bother with target mode, it's worth it.
What the problem with RTK GPS mower that does only 0.5acres? It will simply go back charge up and then finish the lawn after. No big deal.
My flymo robot mower stopped working straight after the end of the guarantee. Did the straightforward things, battery change and voltage check with multimeter. Website and helpline give a long list of agents but none that I have called (I have called lots) do repairs. So bear in mind you might be replacing it after 3 years. Guess it depends if you think that is good value or not….
I had the 450x since 2018 and got fed up with boundary wire breaks and just got the 450xh with epos. It’s incredible. No boundary wire and it can now mow patterns in my lawn wow. Review videos coming soon.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
What in the heck were you thinking! Did you buy that gizmo because you thought it was cool? I don't know what you've paid for it, but I wouldn't want that if it was free! If my neighbors see that thing in my lawn trying to cut my grass, they will think I'm lazy. If you're in good physical shape and no medical restrictions, then there is no reason why you can't mow your own lawn. You should had purchased a riding, or a standard walk behind lawnmower (like everybody else), then you wouldn't be having all those problems. It seems like that robot is a pain in the butt and causing you a headache, and extra work than what it's worth.
Pls dont do as he did, by non stop charging it can get on fire and burn your house as this is lithium, next year he will ask why his battery is dead. You can leave outside if no frost. Problem in winter battery will get damaged. Hes stupid left machine on charge, many houses burn with people like this from battery non stop charging in mid night than you asleep. Cause it takes very little to battery fail than lithium starts burning is very high flame like torch for cutting metal and you cant put down fire, firefighters cant even put it down. and even if they put at any moment it can strart burning again and even exploed with huge force
I had one of these for 5 years It was a good workhorse! This season I got a boundary wire less robot and its life-changing! Sooooo much better than having to deal with boundary wires! It's mowing 3 acres!
I had a similar problem but used a battery powered am/fm radio to find the break in my wire. Cheap fix.👍
I'm just a bit (okay not 'a bit') nerdy on Automower so here comes some corrections and tips.
It was a long time since those blades cut anything. They have been slashing grass for a long time though.
No, it wasn't the biggest when you got it. 2016 they introduced the 450X (replacing earlier generation big boy 265ACX, but that one never had high cut and I don't know if Husqvarna had tried to enter the US market back then) that is a step up (in the X-line, in Europe we have/had the 440 in between).
Husqvarna started small tests with their EPOS mowers in 2020. Scaling up a bit in 2021 and in 2022 it has widely available. Only the 550 EPOS (commercial line, but they are the same without display). And this year they painted the 550 EPOS and call it the 450X EPOS. We in Europe now get the replacements (NERA) for these mowers that as standard has boundary but an optional kit can upgrade it to EPOS (RTK GPS).
The thing is that RTK GPS isn't the instant fix for everything (which some will lead you to believe). You need to plan so you somewhat have good sight to the reference station and they warn about tree canopy, which you seem to have a lot of. I don't have any EPOS myself but now that you have gone through the initial things with boundary wire I think you should stick with it instead of testing and trying other things.
The tool-free cable shoes on the charging station have a bit of bad reputation, and if you're going to open them up when connecting that tracker – just replace them with normal cable shoes.
When troubleshooting you can measure the resistance in the boundary – it should be below 20 ohm for a green signal. If you get no connectivity or very high (tens of thousands) you can take an AM radio (Amplitude Modulation, not AutoMower) radio, connect only one of the wires (to AL) and walk the line with. The radio picks it up further (foot or yard) from the wire so you don't have to dig through the grass to find it for the other tool. If the lines is only a couple of thousand ohms or less in resistance though the radio picks up the signal further away from breaks where it's just scared a bit.
