Overall, the Worx Landroid has shown some real improvements when compared to its previous models.
The WR140E paired with the optional ACS is a combination that other brands struggle to compete with. However, the optional extra will set you back an extra $199 on top of your initial purpose, we feel the ACS should be been included in the package from the get-go.

Quick Review

The Worx Landroid M1000 WR140E is unquestionably one of the most effective robot mowers on the Australian market in 2021. It's proven to be capable of cutting your lawn to your set cutting length while you relax with a very clean finish.
Worx isn't as big as their competitor giants like Honda, Husqvarna, and Stihl, but they have set out to perfect the art of robot mower technology, and it really shows.
The Landroid M1000 is ideal for property sizes of up to 1000m², while the larger model Landroid L1500 can slash areas up to 1500m² for those of you with a larger-sized lawn. The thing that basically sets the Worx m1000 apart from its competitors is its highly customisable mobile application. You're able to configure your operating schedule, grass cutting height, set no-go zones, and even select your grass species so to get the best cut for your lawn type!
The slim rectangular and robust design allows it to enter and navigate into tight spots and relatively easily maneuver around narrow areas.
We were impressed at its ability to spot and avoid obstacles, being trees, dog toys, and even thin garden furniture legs. This is all because of its intelligent anticollision system (ACS). However, the ACS is an optional extra that will cost you an extra $299.
The 2 large spikey rear wheels ensure the Landroid keeps traction and prevents it from getting stuck on slippery surfaces or in mud. Overall the Worx Landroid M1000 has shown real improvements since their previous models and has proven to be one of the best automatic mowers on the market in 2021.

Landroid WR140E Performance

So far, the Landroid WR140E looks amazing!..on paper...Now it's time to see how well the Landroid performs in the real world!

Cut To Edge

One of the marketing points of the M1000 is it's ability to cut much closer to the edge than other brands and models often getting with a few centimetres of the borderline.

worx cut to edge

This really comes in handy if you don't have a trimmer laying around.

Mow-to-charge Ratio

As long as you give the mower enough mowing time, you can expect to have a beautiful and freshly cut lawn to be proud of. The Worx Landroid has a great mowing to charging ratio.

On average, your Worx WR140E is going to last around 120 minutes while mowing and only require 90 minutes to fully recharge and begin mowing again. This is exceptional when compared to other models in the market when the mowing to charging ratio is well in favour of the charging time.

Worx Anti-Collision System (ACS)

The ACS system does an incredible job of avoiding obstacles in its path. However, the operating system turns the ACS off in low power mode or anytime it receives a return home command.

Worx ACS

If your lawn has more than a few obstacles then we would highly recommend getting this add-on. The ACS will undoubtedly save your robot mower from a few bumps and scratches every now and then which may accumulate over the lifetime of your M1000.

Does the Landroid WR140E Work on Rough Terrain?

Due to the rugged design and large, spiked rear wheels, the Work Landroid M1000 can navigate through some pretty rough terrain. The robotic mower can also operate on slopes of up to 24°.

The Landroid isn't going to be climbing over rocks or like a Landcruiser but it will still get through some moderately rough mowing conditions and get the job done.

Worx Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H

The Husqvarna Automower 115H would have to be the Landroids biggest competitor, while both being pretty similar in capabilities, let's take a look at which one of robotic mowers has the edge...

Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H: Features

When it comes to features, both the Landroid and the Automower are pretty evenly matched. Both models offer auto-scheduling, mobile app connectivity, and automatic charging.

The WR140E beats the Automower in terms of tilt capacity 19°, while the Automower can tilt around 18°.

The Automower has a larger working area of up to 1600m² which trumps the Landroid at a still respectable 1000m².

Overall, they both have very similar features, with not too much separating the models.

Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H: Battery Capacity

The Landroid blows the Automower 115H out of the water in this category with 120 minutes mow time and a 90 minute recharge time compared to the Husqvarnas 60 minute mow time and 60 minute recharge time. While both are very respectable scores, the Worx 20v 4.0 battery is far more superior in this instance.

Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H: Safety

Both these models are fairly evenly matched safety-wise. Both models have tilt and lift sensors with a quick-stop blade to prevent any accidents. It's safe to say that both companies take the safety of their customers very, very seriously!

Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H: Noise

The Husqvarna Automower is much quieter than the Worx WR140E at a respectable 59db compared to the relatively louder Landroid at 67db. However, it should be noted that both of these mowers are fairly loud in comparison to the rest of the robot lawnmower market, with the average noise output being around 45-50db.

Landroid WR140E Vs Husqvarna Automower 115H: Overall

As you can see, both of these robotic mowers are fairly evenly matched. While the Husqvarna 115H has a larger working area capacity, the Worx WR140E has a far better battery and charging system.

While the Landroid WR140E starts at AU$1799, the Husqvarna 115H is a bit more expensive starting at AU$2150.

Overall, the Landroid WR140E outclasses the Husqvarna 115H and has a much more affordable price tag.

Should You Buy the Worx Landroid WR140E?

Buying anything more than a few hundred dollars requires some market research and looking into, and fair enough! The last thing you want is to spend a huge amount on something that turns out to be garbage, we've all been there, and it's not cool... That's why we're here to help you decide whether buying the Worx Landroid WR140E M1000 is the right decision for you! Let's take a look...

Buy It If...

You want to save yourself the tedious task of mowing your lawn every week

There's no doubt about it. Having a robot mower will save you hundreds of hours every year on mowing your lawn automatically. For some people, mowing the lawn can be extremely tedious, especially after hard work days and looking after the kids.

You want an easy setup robotic mower

The Worx Landroid is relatively easier to set up when compared to other brands. The instructions are easy to read, and all required tools come within your package. If you purchase the ACS optional add-on, the setup will be even easier with much less adjusting your boundary wire.

You want to be able to control your robot mower completely with your phone

Without a doubt, the Worx Landroid mobile app is by far the most advanced in the market. You're able to set up scheduling, cutting height, view what your mower is doing in real-time and send your robot home when necessary.

Don't Buy If...

You expect a professionally mowed lawn every time

Yes, robot mowers are becoming very advanced. However, if you expect a professionally mowed lawn with perfectly trimmed edges and wonderful patterns cut into your lawn then you probably should stick to doing it manually.

You aren't prepared to play with the boundary wires a bit

Almost all robotic mowers require boundary wires, and these wires indicate the bounds of their required working area. You will probably need to fiddle and tweak your boundary wires a bit to get it right, which could take a bit of time. However, once you've found the sweet spot, it's smooth sailing!

Your backyard is like a course out of Ninja-Warrior

The Worx Landroid's ACS enables it to navigate around obstacles effectively. Although, if your lawn is full of hills, rocks, trees and other inconvenient obstacles, a robotic lawnmower won't function properly. It will end up spending more time readjusting itself than actually mowing.

Maintenance Tips for your Worx Landroid

By taking good care of your robot mower you can add years to it's life. If you regularly service and maintain your Landroid, you will also see much better results in performance and your lawn will look better. Here are a few quick maintenance tips for your Landroid...

*Remember to turn your Landroid off and remove the battery before conducting any cleaning or maintenance on your Landroid*

Keep Your Landroid Clean

A simple yet effective tip, make sure you clean your Landroid at least once a week, this includes removing any grass build-up beneath the deck, wiping down any dirt around the control panel and sensors and cleaning your wheels.

Make Sure Your Blades Are Sharp

Nothing will affect the outcome of your lawn and the efficiency of your Landroid like dull cutting blades. Having sharp blades on your robot mower won't just help it cut faster and easier, but your lawn will always look great with a fresh and clean cut.

Worx recommends replacing your blades at least every 3 months if your Landroid is scheduled to mow everyday.

How to Reset Your Landroid

Sometimes you may need to reset your Landroid, whether it's just had an update, error code popup and it's just been acting a bit weird lately. There are two ways to do this. You can reset your Landroid by:

  1. Fixing whatever was causing the fault code and then pressing the Start/0 button.
  2. Turn the Landroid off, and remove the battery for 30 seconds

Our Thoughts on the Worx Landroid M1000

Overall, the WR140E has proven to be one of the best robot lawnmowers on the market in 2021. It has all the bells and whistles you could dream of in a robotic mower.

Not to mention an incredibly diverse and well-developed mobile application that allows you to fully control your Landroid from the palm of your hand.

Happy mowing!
