If you’re looking to save wear and tear on your Husqvarna Automower’s wheel motors then a good place to start is with the drive wheels. As your Automower is out roaming and cutting the lawn the drive wheels will get dust and dirt inside of them. If the mower goes out and mows wet grass or runs through a water puddle the dust and dirt inside the drive wheel will turn to mud. When the mower docks in the charging station the mud inside the drive wheel will slowly settle in the bottom of the wheel and eventually dry out. Having this clump of now solid dirt built up on one side of the drive wheel not only adds extra weight to the drive wheel, but also causes the drive wheel to be unbalanced. This would be like adding an unneeded wheel weight or two to one side of your car’s wheel. As you drive the car down the road you will notice a vibration coming from that wheel because of it now being out of balance. This is the same thing that will happen with your Automower as it is driving across the lawn. The wheel motor is now turning a slightly heavier, but more importantly, unbalanced drive wheel which will cause more wear on the wheel motor.
