In this video we cover nearly everything there is to know about the collision and lift sensing systems on Husqvarna Automower models 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 520, 520H, 550, 550H, 550 EPOS, & 550H EPOS. Many people think that collision or lift errors are isolated only to the front or rear joysticks on these models of @HusqvarnaUSA Automowers. In reality though there are several other components that are involved in both the collision detection and lift detection systems on these Automower models. In this video we start with a Husqvarna 450XH Automower that has a collision active error message on it. We start by going through the simple process of checking to make sure that the body is properly mounted to the joysticks, checking the snaplock caps to make sure they are still in good condition and the center is not poked out, checking the condition of the joysticks to make sure nothing is bent or twisted, and making sure the magnet is still in the magnet holder in the nose of the mower under the charging plates. From here we move on to checking the sensor information in the Automower’s quick info menu (Not available on 500 series) to determine which sensor is showing that it is active and checking which sensors are working properly. Then it’s on to the inside of the mower to further examine the joysticks, sensor circuit boards, and wiring to determine what is causing the mower to give the error message.

This is a first class video with clear explanation of steps and a methodical, logical approach to problem diagnosis. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Hopefully this will help me repair a 10 year old mower that has been cutting my grass relentlessly despite the collisions, weather, drowning, and being thoroughly trampled by an escaped bull (no joke). If it doesn't help, the video was still well worth watching.
Thank you for taking the time to make such helpful videos, really appreciated 🙂
Where did you buy the harnes/wires for the rear collision sensor? 😁
Is there a way to jumper a bad lift sensor board and trick the mower to a NO lift until I can order in a new printed circuit board?
Thanks for a very helpful video. i just started as a service technician with mostly husqvarna robotmowers in Sweden.
Thank you for the excellent video! This helped me resolve the issue I had with my very similar Gardena robotic mower. Much appreciated!
Great description! Easy fix once I realized what was causing the lift error. Thanks.
it gos for 320 & 420 as well
Thanks 👍
When I switched the ribbon cable around, the rear collision went away, but I didn’t get a front collision. I was going to order a replacement just to be safe, but I don’t see it on you website? 430x btw
Thanks great video
