How To Replace The Bellows (Rubber Boot) On A 400/500 Series Husqvarna Automower

On the bottom of Husqvarna Automowers there is a rubber boot that is used to keep the cutting system seal while also allowing the cutting motor to move up and down to change the height of cut. This rubber boot, or “Bellows” as it is labeled in the Husqvarna IPL, is a crucial part that keeps moisture and water out of the chassis as the mower runs over wet grass or through water puddles. Many people have a “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality with their Automower. But this is a part that Husqvarna actually suggests replacing at least every 3 years just to be safe. In this video we show you the procedure for replacing this rubber boot on a 400 and 500 series Husqvarna Automower.

  1. We are having trouble with uneven cutting (unlike our prior 2 seasons). Could a bad bellow be the cause? How often is it recommended to change the bellow? Thanks so much for your clear helpful videos!
