Luba 2 Working with No Satelite Signal – Wireless Robot Lawn Mowers Australia

www.robotlawnmowers.com.au

In this video we test Luba 2 to see how it performs when used in areas that have no GNSS satellite signal.
We found that LUBA 2 has a great ability to be able to be mapped when with no GNSS signal as well as being able to map channels between areas.
LUBA 2 will work with no satellite or GPS signal very well and this test has results that far exceeding my own expectations.
LUBA 2 can work with it charging station install in areas that have no GNSS signal as well.

  1. And hoe do you force the firmware update remote not connected to the same wifi netwirk. Ie set everything up, leave it all running needs firmware update and your not there

  2. Top job i had terrible trouble with my yuka 800 recognising its path under trees even under feeble tree coverage although i actually tried to rush mine through the tree line rather than going slower. If this just a feature of the yuba

  3. Hey there. Do you have a detailed video of how to get the luba to dock itself in an area where it can't have GPS? We're trying to park it under our deck and have it go to a zone and return when it needs to charge. Thank you!

  4. Product might be good, but their idea of customer service is awful. They took payment and are now refusing to ship because they want more money first! An extra £350 after purchase! It's just an insane situation

  5. Wow amazing useful video, thanks planning to buy a robot and would love to park it under the my roofed and closed of terras, so it's protect from the elements. But was a bit worried that would not work, I do get poor signal of gps there with my phone, but seeing this video convinced me this would just work!

  6. Hi guys, I'm trying to decide between the 1 and the 2. I've seen some people online say that luba 1 is better for night time mowing as while it's "blind" without the camera, it has 4 sensors as opposed to three on the new one. That the camera does help it for daytime mowing but that it provides no benefit at night, and the loss of the extra sensor makes it a little less suitable than the old one when choosing to mow at night. Is there any truth to that? Do you think luba 1 with 4 sensors would be better for nighttime mowing compared to the new version with 3 + a camera?

  7. Thanks for this, glad it can dock under roof that is a big improvement, my V1 already does but on the fringes of a 180deg sky view on the patio.
The other thing I’d really liked to have seen it capable of is when you map too close to fences that the camera system will avoid contact even if the GNS is thrown off by metal fencing, essentially a correction path to avoid contact, even better if it can do this along mower strips around the home, detecting the slight rise in height, as Luba will sometimes scrape on these edges. Active hard edge detection/avoidance would be great, even while there is a weak signal.
Then I think it’ll be Schmicko.

  8. Thanks Jason for another great video. I really enjoy watching the trial and error of each test. I have luba-2 on order but have little shade so camera capabilites seemed a nice to have until you got to the garaged charging station test. This would be major for me and I'd really appreciate a test to see if limitations to this mentioned by others might relate to locating the charger in partial signal (versus no signal) and/or low light levels. Buy the way I'd love to have ordered through you guys but I'm in Dublin. Though its looking like you could have simply instructed it to find its own way from Oz to Ireland 😊

  9. @ 40:5142:0043:45 this is very misleading, you are right to be surprised! The vision system will time out. I have my charging station in a spot that sometimes does not have good satellite coverage. It will always resume mowing, so the vision system seems to stay active for an hour to charge. But at night, after a certain amount of time, the camera symbol goes away and it will not start mowing in the morning if it does not have a satellite fix. this is confirmed by others on facebook/reddit.
The conclusion in 46:3548:30 is simply not true, sorry. i really wish it was. Charing in the garage would be a game changer, as you say! But it's not a viable option, yet.

  10. Seems very promising. I have a "small" corridor between my house and the neighbors shed which is about 8 meters long with 1m of tiles towards the house and 2-3m of grass up to the shed.
Cannot wait for my Luba to come.
